Dad wanted to get in on the blog fun!
Stats.: 15 lbs. 6 oz. 24 in. long. Head circumference: 17 in.
Eating: Rhett eats around 4-5 oz. of breast milk each feeding.
Sleeping: Rhett has started to sleep through the night! Before anyone gets too excited, I must add that he doesn't do this every night, but the nights when he does are pretty great! When he does sleep through the night, he falls asleep or is pretty drowsy around 7-8. We tend to give him a bath around 9:30-10:00. After bath time, we lather him up with lotion or coconut oil and put him in some fresh PJs. He usually has a little milk before bed and is out around 10:30. When he sleeps through the night, he wakes up around 5:00-5:-30. I know that seems early to some, but six-seven straight hours of sleep is heavenly. If he doesn't sleep through the night, he'll wake up about every three hours. Rhett is still sleeping in his "Snuggabunny" Rock N' Play. He is sleeping in his own room now (which is right across the hall from ours) and we can easily hear him if he starts whimpering....or snoring! We'd like to transition him to his crib sometime soon. The other night he fell asleep in his crib for the first time ever, but he started crying thirty minutes later. We'll get there eventually. If anyone has any tips or tricks on how to transition a baby to a crib, let us know!
Development: There has been all sorts of development this month! Rhett is starting to smile more and more and is cooing all the time. He absolutely loves to lie in his crib and watch his mobile. That's when he coos the most. He has also discovered his hands this month and loves to place them together on his chest...or put them up to his mouth and droll all over them. His neck seems to be growing stronger and stronger every day. We do "tummy time" a couple times a day and it is fun to see his progress. It's also fun to watch his eyes focus on things. His legs are getting stronger too. A couple times we have walked into his room to find he kicked all his blankets off and onto the floor! We tuck them around him, and somehow he is still able to do this. We also use those sleep sacks, some nights and that solves the problem.
Likes: looking at his mobile, cooing and making silly noises, sitting/lying in his bouncy seat, going in his swing, sitting up (with the help of Mom or Dad), eating, stroller and car rides, keeping his arms out, stretching, gripping fingers, sucking on his pacifier
Dislikes: hasn't seemed to like getting his hair washed too much this month
Clothes: The 3 month clothes are getting a little tight at this point. He still wears some of them, but has mainly transitioned to 6-9 month clothes. It makes me a little sad to already put away the cute summer clothes when he has only worn some of them once!
We are loving every second with our sweet little (big) boy. Time is flying by as we watch him grow and learn. We can't wait for what's in store for month 3!

- Rhett absolutely loves his bouncer seat, and he is warming up to the swing. The bouncer has a vibration setting that will put him right to sleep. When we're not holding him and Rhett is not lying on his playmat, in his Rock N' Play, or in his crib, he is usually in the bouncy seat/swing.
- Rhett really enjoys looking at this toy, and who can blame him... it is very cute and has about a billion colors. It rattles, makes a crackle noise, and also has a mirror. I also like the fact that it can clip on to just about anything.
- After having some baby showers and receiving a variety of diaper brands, we like The Honest Company and Pampers best. They both fit Rhett well and are very absorbent. The Honest Company diapers come in a variety of cute patterns and designs. Plus, the diapers are made with 100% plant-based material and are free of free of lotions, fragrances, and latex. You can order the diapers in “bundles” from The Honest Company website. In a bundle, you receive a shipment of six packs of diapers and four packs of wipes. You can set it up so you receive a bundle every four, five, or six weeks. Buying online is cheaper than buying one pack at a time at Target. There are also promo codes online for $10.00 off and whatnot. The Honest Company also has great customer service if you give them a call for some reason. I probably like The Honest Company wipes better than any other brand, too. They have a nice texture which is helpful for messy diapers. Like I said, our other favorite brand/type of diaper is Pampers Swaddlers. They are extremely soft (softer than the Honest Company) and also very absorbent. Rhett has had less messy (up the back) diaper issues with these than The Honest Company. I also like the “wetness indicator” on the Pampers Swaddlers.
- I think any mobile is a necessity for a baby’s crib, and I especially like this one. It is musical and matches our nursery decor well. Rhett loves looking at this while he lies in his crib. A downfall is that it does not properly attach to our crib (it is an issue with the crib, not the mobile). As of now, we have it attached to the crib with some zip tie things. Another minor downfall is that I just wish that the music would play a little longer, but overall, it is a very nice mobile.
- These bags are great! They easily sterilize pumping equipment, bottles, pacifiers, etc. All you have to do is toss your items in the bag, add water, and microwave for three minutes. These bags are cost effective too—you can use each bag up to twenty times. You receive five bags per box. Using these bags is a lot faster and easier than boiling water every time you want to thoroughly clean these baby items.
- Every so often Rhett has been fond of rubbing and scratching around his eyes. I feel so bad when I see his eyes all red! His finger nails grow so fast too! At night I have been slipping these little mitts on his hands, and he is good to go!
- These are nice for wiping sticky hands, (Rhett likes to rub his on his face and mouth especially after he’s done eating) pacifiers, your own hands, etc. They smell great and are very gentle. These are a must for my diaper bag.
- We love to use this as a moisturizer for Rhett after bath time. It also works well as a diaper rash ointment. Lately I've been using it on the skin under Rhett’s neck (which doesn’t get too much air flow and is sometimes red-ish).
