Rhett: Five Months

That little tongue!

I love those legs!

I absolutely love this video. Rhett has the highest little voice!

Age: five months (This past month has definitely went by the fastest.)
Stats.: 21 pounds! We're not sure about height (no 5 month appointment).
Eating: about 6-7 oz. each feeding. Rhett also enjoys a little rice cereal here and there.
Sleeping: For about a week and a half, Rhett slept through the night (9:30-10:00 P.M. until 6:15-6:30 A.M. One night he even let us sleep in until 7:15! Oh how things have changed from a year ago! Unfortunately our little sweetheart caught a cold after Christmas and that has stopped the sleeping streak. We are hoping for a speedy recovery and our fingers are crossed that he goes back to sleeping through the night!
Development: Recently, Rhett has really started to become curious about sitting up. He is always arching his back and trying to hoist himself up. He is still a supported sitter, but he is working on his balance. He also loves when we assist him in standing. We love how he always looks around to see who is watching him. He is so proud of himself (and so are we)! He is starting to smile more at our faces and less at his toys. He also rolled over once from back to tummy. I was so glad that my sister-in-law captured it on camera, because it happened while I was at work. Rhett loves sticking out his tongue at us and likes to mimic what we do. He was even laughing a little at Daddy when he was being silly.
Likes: Rhett still loves his jumper. It's so fun to watch him jump around on his own. He is reaching for toys left and right and puts EVERYTHING into his mouth...this could possibly explain why he caught a cold. He also has taken a liking to Clay, Rhett's grandparents' dog. He just stares at him when he is nearby. Rhett loves toys with bright, flashing colors, and enjoys falling asleep during long car rides.
Dislikes: We found out the hard way that Rhett does not like hand dryers in public bathrooms. Let's just say he was not very happy in the Macy's restroom! For that matter, he isn't a big fan of any loud, sudden noise. He usually starts to whimper or cry when he gets startled.
Clothes: 9 -12 months

I still can't get over the fact that our little baby is already five months old. Months 4-5 FLEW by! It feels like everyday Rhett is doing something new and we are just so amazed by his every move. He has definitely captured our hearts. It is so fun to see his little personality coming out more and more. He has such a tender little heart. It's also so fun to pick him up from daycare or to come home from work and see his face light up when he sees us. The holidays were a lot of fun to celebrate with our little man. He was so happy and well behaved on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, even though there was a lot going on and so many people. It was so sweet how he fell asleep when we sang "Silent Night" at church. Below, I included some of the Christmas gifts Rhett received this year. Clearly, he was on the nice list! A special thank you to all our family and friends for making Rhett's first Christmas so wonderful!
